Matthew Fox DUI Charge: 'Lost' Star Allegedly Channels Jack Shephard's Off-Island Persona
Lost star Matthew Fox allegedly channeled character Dr. Jack Shephard in his post-island days after Fox was arrested Friday on suspicion of DUI in Oregon.
Fox, 45, was arrested at 3:23 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence and had a passenger in the car, as first reported by TMZ.
Alcohol was allegedly involved in the incident.
Details surrounding the arrest are unclear -- but sources tell us, it was alcohol-related. We're told Matthew was en route to a fast food restaurant for some late night eats at the time of his arrest, TMZ reported.
The Lost actor was taken into custody and released.
If alcohol was indeed involved, it was a case of life imitating art.
Fox's popular Lost' character, Dr. Jack Shephard, struggled with alcoholism after he and the remaining Losties were rescued from the mysterious island.
Sporting a disheveled beard, he uttered the famous line, We have to go back, Kate! to Kate [Evangeline Lilly] during the finale of the third season of Lost and it was evident that his character was facing problems with alcohol and drugs. The finale shocked audiences by revealing that the Losties were rescued from the island.
The run-in with the law Friday is the second for Fox in nine months.
A Cleveland bus driver accused him of assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress in another incident allegedly fueled by alcohol, People magazine reported.
Fox is a resident of Bend, Ore.
Matthew Fox was a trending topic on Twitter Monday afternoon as word spread of his arrest.
Some Lost fans mocked Fox on the micro-blogging site.
