Mavericks owner Mark Cuban buys $90,000 champagne bottle for players
Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban bought a $90,000 bottle of champagne for his players after their hard fought series win over the Miami Heat in six games.
According to the NY Post, Cuban's total bill was $110,000 during a post-game celebration at a local club in Miami. The bottle of $90,000 bottle of champagne dubbed Ace of Spades is actually Armand de Brignac.
Worth every penny, Cuban told the NY Post.
Among the players who partook in the celebratory bottle of champagne include finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Brian Cardinal, and Shawn Marion.
Despite the large sum spent on the celebratory bottle of champagne, Cuban can well afford it. His net worth is estimated to be at $2.5 Billion.
The billionaire has been the owner of the Mavericks since 2000, shortly after he sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo.
Since then, Cuban has been known as one of the most passionate owners of the NBA, on the sidelines of most of the Mavericks' games. He has also spent his fortune improving the team by building state of the art facilities and lavishing his players.
After being perennial playoff contenders, the Mavericks finally broken through with their franchise's first NBA title.
The latest $90,000 expenditure for a bottle of champagne is presumably due to Cuban's excitement and exuberance following the significant accomplishment.
The NY Post even reports that Cuban left a $20,000 tip for the staff.
