May 21 Doomsday: 'It is absolutely going to happen'
If Harold Camping is right, Judgment Day is near. Near as in four days away. Yes, you've heard correctly.
The Oakland-based Family Radio Worldwide, of which Camping is the president, said they have crunched the numbers, have done the math properly, and the numbers prove that the beginning of the end of the world as we know it is May 21. A day, the Family Radio Worldwide website says, the Bible guarantees.
According to Camping, the May date is the beginning of the end, the day when only the righteous will be saved and taken to heaven, keeping in line with rapture doctrine. But months of torturous devastation is promised to follow, with the actual end date for earth is Oct. 21, 2011.
He is indubitably convinced that it going to happen as he predicted, despite being wrong when he scheduled the world to end in September of 1994. He relented that he may have made a mathematical error, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.
God has given sooo much information in the Bible about his, and so many proofs, and so many signs, that we know it is absolutely going to happen without any question at all, Camping said in an interview with New York magazine six days ago. There's nothing in the Bible that God has ever prophesied - there's many things that he prophesied would happen and they always have happened - but there's nothing in the Bible that holds a candle to the amount of information to this tremendous truth of the end of the world.
What can you expect on the big day?
When the clock says about 6 p.m., there's going to be this tremendous earthquake that's going to make the last earthquake in Japan seem like nothing in comparison, Camping said. And the whole world will be alerted that Judgment Day has begun. And then it will follow the sun for 24 hours.
As each area of the world gets to that point of 6 p.m. on May 21, then it will happen there, and until it happens, the rest of the world will be standing far off and witnessing the horrible thing that is happening.
