Maya Rudolph didn't think she nailed it when she played Kamala Harris on "Saturday Night Live," but many believed she did. Rudolph even won an Emmy Award for her impression of Harris on the late-night live TV sketch comedy show.
"It's really such an honor to be involved in any presidential race, and this one is a real doozy. So it is really an honor," Rudolph told Entertainment Tonight about playing Harris.
"I got to meet her, and she is so fantastic. She is so incredible, she is so energizing and I just feel so good to be associated with someone so positive. I just want to do her proud -- just do a good job, no pressure!"
Rudolph explained that she tried to make her impression of Harris fun because she felt that way when she met the senator. She also showered Harris with praise for being a "great human."
"I definitely tried to make her fun because I do feel that when I see her. You can tell she loves life and she is real and she is honest and she has no problem speaking her mind and being forthright about it, which I think is so important right now," the comedian continued.
"But she is also so joyful and you see her dancing in the room and all this stuff. She is just a great human, and I forgot what it felt like to see that and to see something so positive. It feels so good to see her out there. I am really hoping she is around for a long time.”
Rudolph also teased fans that she might play Harris on "SNL" again on its upcoming Season 46 premiere on Oct. 3. She hopes to continue playing Harris for the years to come.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson has endorsed Joe Biden and Harris. The “Black Adam” star shared a video on Instagram along with a clip of his conversation with Biden and Harris. The “Fast and Furious” star is an independent voter and has supported both Republican and Democrat candidates in the past.
He chose Biden and Harris this time because he believes that they are the best choice to lead the country.
