A disgruntled McDonald’s customer shared stomach-churning pictures after their Happy Meal order arrived home with an uninvited guest inside.

The not-so-happy parent living in Australia had ordered a Happy Meal for her daughter and claimed it arrived with a cockroach slithering on top of the fries.

“Straya - where you get a free live toy with every Happy Meal,” the parent wrote as she shared a series of pictures Wednesday on Reddit.

The parent, who ordered the meal from a Hurstville McDonald’s outlet in Sydney, said they received their order about half an hour late. She noted that the Uber Eats driver first delivered the food to the wrong address, according to news.com.au.

“My guess is he crawled in while our food was sitting on the front porch of the wrong address for half an hour,” the parent, with the username Embarrassed_Hat3693, wrote in the comments section.

Despite being Australian, the parent who called herself a “cranky mama bear” said she despised the sight of the creepy crawly.

“I’m Australian and should be used to them I guess, but give me snakes, spiders and rats over cockroaches any day. Those things are unspeakably revolting,” the parent commented on her own post.

Some reports said it was the child’s father who shared the nauseating pictures. The parent acknowledged the error in the post’s comments and said: “It made the news — though they’ve assumed I’m a man. Actually a cranky mama bear. Maybe I should have warned y’all about the graphic images as well?!”

Several Reddit users were disgusted by the sight and collectively agreed that the roach should be nowhere near food.

“Ohhh Jesus I would’ve died, the sight of those especially if one’s inside my house just instills absolute disgust and anxiety in me,” one user wrote while another joked, “That's pappa roach, he's part of the happy meal toy line.. it's his last resort.”

“Food prices being what they are you should be grateful for the protein!” quipped another.

A McDonald’s spokeswoman released a statement to 7NEWS.com.au following the incident.

“McDonald’s takes food and drink safety extremely seriously and we are disappointed to hear of the customer’s experience,” the fast-food giant said in their statement. “Our employees follow strict cleaning, sanitisation, quality control and hygiene procedures to ensure our food and our restaurants remain safe for our staff and customers."

“We will look into this incident with our delivery partners, as part of our commitment to ongoing service improvements,” the statement added.
