A few weeks after White Castle recalled its hamburger and cheeseburgers for possible Listeria contamination, Advance Pierre Foods has recalled nearly 16,000 pounds of beef patties that may be contaminated with small, green soft plastic.

The frozen beef patties were produced on Sept. 11 and sold in 15.09 -pound bulk packed cases. The patties were labeled as CN Fully Cooked Flamebroiled Beef Patties and have a product code of 69097 on the case label. Labels of the recalled beef can be viewed here.

The recalled beef patties also have an establishment number of Est. 2132 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The affected meat was shipped to a single distribution location in Iowa and then distributed to institutions, including schools, but was not a part of the National School Lunch Program, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The meat was not sold at retail stores.

Institutions are urged to check their freezers for the recalled beef patties. They should not be served. The meat should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Questions about the recall can be directed to Worth Sparkman, media relations at Tyson Foods (TSN), at 479-290-6358.

Advance Pierre Foods said it discovered the plastic contamination after receiving a complaint from a food service establishment. The company has not received any reports of adverse reactions from the consumption of the recalled beef patties. Those that are concerned about illness or injury from the affected meat should see their healthcare provider.

Shares of Tyson Foods stock were up 0.96% as of 2:03 p.m. EST on Monday.
