Netflix’s newest movie is a tiny, independent film, but it has some massive stars. “Unicorn Store” viewers will likely recognize some of the cast members in this quirky movie.

Brie Larson is making her directorial debut with “Unicorn Store,” but the “Avengers: Endgame” star is also the leading lady. She plays Kit, a creative young woman who fails out of art school. She has to move in with her parents and take a boring temp job.

At the moment, Larson is best known for playing Captain Marvel. Her solo movie just passed the billion-dollar mark and her next Marvel movie, “Endgame,” is expected to do the same when it hits theaters on April 26. Before playing a superhero, Larson received rave reviews in smaller movies like “Short Term 12” and “Room,” for which she won an Oscar.

Samuel L. Jackson is the Salesman. After she starts her office job, the Salesman invites Kit to The Store to get exactly what she needs. He is going to sell her a unicorn.

This is Jackson and Larson’s third team up after “Kong: Skull Island” and “Captain Marvel,” but audiences will recognize Jackson from a variety of other projects. He plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was Mace Windu in “Star Wars.” Audiences might also recognize him from “Pulp Fiction, “Django Unchained,” “Snakes on a Plane” and more.

Joan Cusack and Bradley Whitford play Kit’s mom and dad, Gladys and Gene. They’re a little concerned about their daughter finding her path in life.

Cusack’s voice is recognizable to “Toy Story” fans (she voices Jessie), and she is also known for movies like “Working Girl” and “Grosse Pointe Blank” in addition to TV shows like “Shameless” and “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

Whitford, meanwhile, is most recognizable from “The West Wing.” More recently, he has appeared in “Get Out” and “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Mamoudou Athie plays Virgil. He’s the hardware store employee that Kit hires to build a stable as she prepares to get her unicorn. She doesn’t tell him exactly why she is building the structure right away.

Though he only started getting screen credits in 2015, Athie has a pretty impressive resume. He was on Netflix’s “The Get Down” as Grandmaster Flash, TBS’ “The Detour” as Carl and Facebook’s “Sorry for Your Loss” as Matt. His movie credits include “The Circle” and “Patti Cake$.”

Karan Soni plays Kevin, a counselor who works at Gladys and Gene’s outdoor camp. He seemingly has it all together while Kit feels like she’s floundering.

Fans might recognize him from the “Deadpool” movies or his recent TBS series “Miracle Workers.” He has also appeared in “Office Christmas Party” and “Rough Night.” He’ll next be seen in “Pokémon Detective Pikachu.”

“Unicorn Store” is available on Netflix starting Friday, but it was actually made a couple years ago. It debuted at Toronto International Film Festival in 2017, but it wasn’t until this year that Netflix bought it.

“Unicorn Store” is part of a two-picture deal for Larson and producer Lynette Howell. Netflix also bought the rights to “Lady Business,” a film Howell and Larson are developing with Endeavor Content, Deadline reports. The movie will be based on the true story of Penelope Gazin and Kate Dwyer, entrepreneurs who had to create a fake male business partner in order to achieve their goals.
