A new week means a new opportunity for someone in the United States to win tens of millions of dollars from the Mega Millions lottery. The first of two drawings this week is almost here, and it carries a $55 million jackpot, due to the fact that nobody has won in the past two weeks.

The next drawing will take place at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday night, according to the Mega Millions website. If someone wins the jackpot, they will get $55 million with a $33 million cash option. The jackpot was $50 million at the time of the previous drawing last Friday, but nobody claimed a winning ticket, so it grew even more.

Nobody has won since the drawing on New Year’s Day. A lucky player in New York took home $437 million to start 2019. If nobody wins on Tuesday, it will grow by at least an additional $5 million for the next drawing on Friday.

The winning numbers last Friday were 4, 5, 31, 62 and 69, with gold ball numbered 20. Two people each won $1 million, but other than that, there were not any massive prize-winners last week.
