It seems everyone can't stop talking about the Mega Millions lottery, with a jackpot that went up to a record $500 million for the winning numbers draw date on March 30.

Even celebrities cannot help themselves from joining in on the madness, tweeting about the lottery and some even going out to their local convenience stories to buy tickets for themselves!

TMZ reported on Wednesday that Rob Dyrdek of MTV's Rob & Big spent $700 on tickets when the jackpot was still worth $356 million. According to friends, Dyrdek, 37, purchased $700 in quick picks at his local AM/PM in Hollywood on Tuesday, paying the total in cash.

After the report emerged, he tweeted the report from TMZ and admitted his lottery splurge.

I apply this philosophy to all aspects of my life 'you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket,' he tweeted.

On Wednesday, Washington Wizards' Chris Singleton tweeted that he will spend $10,000 on lottery tickets.

Currently, the jackpot, which has been growing since Jan. 24, is estimated at $500 million with a $359 million cash option. Winners can choose to collect the lump sum of $359 million in a single payment, or have the jackpot paid out over 26 years, according to IBTimes' outline of the Mega Millions rules and regulations.

The largest jackpot ever, according to the Mega Millions website, was $390 million in March 2007 divided between two winners in Georgia and New Jersey.

So naturally, a jackpot this historic will attract a ton of attention. But even from celebrities?
