The unclaimed jackpot on Tuesday night was worth an estimated $26 million with a cash value of $18.4 million. The jackpot will now grow to an estimated $36 million with a cash option of $25.5 million. The next Mega Millions jackpot drawing will take place on Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 p.m. ET.
Although there were no grand prize winners following the latest jackpot drawing, a player from Texas matched five numbers, winning $1 million. The player would have won $2 million if they had hit the Match 5 with the 2X Megaplier.
However, that wasn’t the only win of the evening. Some players managed to snag other monetary prizes from the Tuesday night Mega Millions drawing.
There were 10 players who hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball that won $10,000 each. Meanwhile, there was only one player who matched four numbers plus the gold Mega Ball with the 2X Megaplier, winning $20,000. The rest of the prizes from the night ranged between $2 and $1,000.
The latest Mega Million drawing comes after three family members from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, claimed the Oct. 22 jackpot. At the time, the grand prize was worth an estimated $108 million, but the family opted to take the cash option of $75.2 million.
The win marked the second Mega Millions jackpot ever awarded in the state of Arizona. “We are so excited to see this family claim our second-ever Mega Millions jackpot,” said Gregg Edgar, the executive director of the Arizona Lottery.
“The Arizona Lottery is all about doing more good in our state and making dreams come true for our players. I’m sure this amazing prize will go a long way toward helping make this family’s dreams a reality and inspiring many other Arizonans to dream bigger while doing good for Arizona.”
Mega Millions can be played in 45 states as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
