There were no players who became instant millionaires following the lottery drawing. If a player was able to hit the Match 5, it would have resulted in a $1 million payout. However, if a player hit the Match 5 with the 2X Megaplier, they would have won a $2 million prize.
The next Mega Millions drawing will be worth an estimated $360 million, with a cash option of $199.3 million. The numbers will be drawn on Friday at 11 p.m. ET.
Even though there were no instant millionaires, there were plenty of other small prizes. Twenty-five players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball and won $10,000 each.
Meanwhile, only six players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with a 2X Megaplier purchase, winning $20,000 apiece.
The other Mega Millions wins from the night ranged between $2 and $1,000. There were a total of 753,028 winning tickets that resulted from the latest drawing.
The jackpot hasn’t been won since April 15, when a player from Tennessee won $20 million. There have since been over 10.4 million winning tickets at all prize levels.
This year, a total of four Mega Million jackpots have been won, including the Tennessee ticket. On Jan. 28, a player from California won $426 million, followed by a New York ticket holder who won $128 million on March 8, and a Minnesota player who won $110 million in the April 12 drawing.
Mega Millions jackpot winners can receive their grand prize winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity.
Those who opt for the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
Mega Millions can be played in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
