Despite the lack of grand prize winners on Tuesday, there were seven Match 5 winners. However, only one of them played with a Megaplier. Players from Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Virginia, and two from New York, won the $1M prize. A Texas ticket-holder increased their prize to $3M with the Megaplier purchase.
Aside from the seven-figure winners of the night, 41 players won $10,000 each by hitting the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball. Meanwhile, only seven players used a Megaplier to push their prize to $30,000. The rest of the prizes from the night ranged between $2 and $1,500.
The latest Mega Millions jackpot comes after three players from the previous Mega Millions drawing became instant millionaires by matching five white balls. A player from West Virginia purchased their $1M winning ticket at a Sheetz in Shepherdstown; a player in Missouri bought their $2M winning ticket at a Circle K in St. Charles; and a Florida player purchased their ticket from a 7-Eleven in Brandon.
Mega Millions winners can receive their jackpot win through either a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity. Those who opt for the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
Mega Millions can be played in 45 states as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
