Megan Fox is getting candid about the difficulties and challenges she faces as a mother.

In an interview with Glamour U.K. published Tuesday, the "Transformers" star — who shares three children, Journey River, 5, Bodhi Ransom, 8, and Noah Shannon, 9, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green — said she feels guilty about being away from her children at times due to her busy filming schedule.

"It is hard, because I travel for long periods of time and they have to attend school, which is what it is. I wish I could take them out to travel with me, it would make things a lot easier," Fox told the magazine. "I cry often, every new moon usually. I get in the bath and cry a lot about it because it is hard and not because of pressures that anybody else or society puts on you, but it is just hard being separated from them in that way. They are my DNA."

The "Jennifer's Body" actress noted that her split from Green played a part in her not being able to spend more time with her kids since the two share joint custody of their sons.

"It's hard to not feel obligated to be with them all the time or to constantly feel like I'm not doing a good enough job," she admitted.

While she said having her kids only half of the time allows her to "have moments for myself, where I can live my life as me, not just always being someone's mother," Fox confessed that she always struggles with the guilt and the feeling of not having done enough as a mom.

During the interview, Fox, who is now engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, was "moved to tears" while revealing that her eldest son, Noah, "suffers" from bullying at school.

She shared that Noah started wearing dresses when he was about 2 years old. She said she "bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things," including books written by transgender children.

Fox went on to say that she tries to make sure none of her and Green's kids are made to feel like "they are weird or strange or different."

However, she's aware she "can't control the way other people react" to her children, and this is part of the reason why she no longer posts photos of her kids on Instagram and other social media platforms.

"I'm so proud of my kids. Noah is an unbelievable pianist. He can learn Mozart's concerto in an hour," Fox said. "I want people to see that, but I also don't want the world to have access to this gentle soul and say all the things that we all know they're going to say."

Green confirmed in May 2020 that he and Fox had separated after nearly 10 years of marriage after the actress was spotted spending time with Kelly, whom she met filming "Midnight in the Switchgrass."

Fox officially filed for divorce from Green one day before Thanksgiving that year and three days after she made her red carpet debut with Kelly at the 2020 American Music Awards.

The exes finalized their divorce in February. Fox announced her engagement to Kelly on Jan. 12 after roughly a year and a half of dating.
