Meghan Markle has been accused of using son Archie for a PR stunt.

On Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex ended her maternity leave by carrying out an engagement close to her heart. She launched her fashion collection with her patronage, Smart Works.

At the event, Markle delivered a speech without any notes which impressed many. When she was about to end her speech, she said that she needed to leave to feed her son, Archie.

However, many didn’t like what they heard. Some even accused the duchess of only doing it for PR stunt as she and Prince Harry have been slammed by the media and netizens for taking four private flights in 11 days while campaigning for the environment.

“People! It was a PR stunt to send #MeghanMarkle to Serenas Tennis finale, as it was a PR stunt to say at the #SmartWork lunch that she needed to get home quick to feed her child,” one netizen wrote on Twitter.

“#MeghanMarkle said she needed to leave to feed Archie, but who was feeding him when she was in NYC for two days, watching tennis, enjoying the city and hanging out with her celebrity friends?” a different user commented.

Meanwhile, another critic called Markle a “fake woman.” Markle made a last-minute decision to fly to New York to support her close pal William in the US Open final after seeing her victory at the semi-finals on TV.

Williams thanked Markle for being there for her even if it meant that the duchess had to leave her son home. However, the athlete admitted that she could not imagine herself leaving her daughter at home at that age. Williams went on and praised Prince Harry’s wife for being “amazing.”

Following Markle’s solo flight to New York, one of her fans dubbed Prince William and Middleton “attention seekers.” The netizen said that the Duchess of Sussex took a commercial flight to the Big Apple, but there were no photos of her boarding the plane unlike the Cambridges when they took a budget flight to visit Queen Elizabeth II to Scotland.

However, some royal fans were quick to defend the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. One said that maybe there were no photos of Markle boarding a commercial flight because she flew in a private jet.
