Is Meghan Markle Allowed To Celebrate Thanksgiving Even As A Royal?
Meghan Markle celebrated Thanksgiving last year with her mom Doria Ragland in California.
At that time, she was just engaged to Prince Harry and was to become an official member of the royal family six months later. Now that she is married to the Duke of Sussex, royal fans are wondering whether or not the Duchess of Sussex may still celebrate the holiday with her loved ones back in the United States. This year, Markle didn’t return home to celebrate the occasion with her family.
According to People, there is no royal protocol that says the “Suits” alum can no longer celebrate Thanksgiving as a member of the royal family. If Markle and Prince Harry do not have a scheduled royal engagement this Thursday, they can very well celebrate Thanksgiving in the United Kingdom.
And since Markle loves to cook, it is also possible that the pregnant wife of Prince Harry may whip up some delicious recipes for her husband. In 2015, Markle revealed that she successfully managed to roast a beautiful turkey for Thanksgiving.
She also posed with the turkey and shared the photo on her social media account.
“Oh, that time that I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey! The question is, can I do it again? The pressure is on! LOL,” she captioned the snap.
In related news, Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and the editor of Majesty magazine, claimed that Markle, Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton are weighed before and after eating turkey for dinner during the holiday season.
The expert said that the members of the royal family are required to know their weight when they arrived in Sandringham for the holidays. This move is one of the ways for Queen Elizabeth II to know that all of her guests are well-fed.
Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, who has been invited by Her Majesty to celebrate Christmas with the royal family this year, will also be weighed before her vacation starts. And before leaving the royal residence, Ragland will once again be weighed.
The members of the royal family are also expected to enter the dining room in order of seniority for the holidays.
