Meghan Markle Always Packs This Item When Traveling For A Sad Reason
Meghan Markle has followed in the footsteps of other royals who are always traveling with black attire during their engagements.
Kara Godfrey, a journalist for Express, reported that the Duchess of Sussex needs to always bring a black outfit during her overseas trip so that she can wear the attire in case a member of the royal family passes away while she’s away.
All royals need to wear mourning clothes when they return to the United Kingdom after an engagement to honor a deceased family member. But Queen Elizabeth II once failed to follow protocol when King George VI passed away. Her Majesty was departing from Kenya at that time, and she didn’t bring a black outfit along with her.
However, the Queen was still able to wear mourning clothes because it was brought to her by the palace staff. When she returned to the U.K., she wore it.
The journalist noted that it might not be challenging for Markle to bring a spare black outfit during her trips because she has been wearing the said color during some of her engagements. Kate Middleton, on the other hand, is rarely seen in black. Godfrey noted that there are no protocols when it comes to the color of clothes royals could wear.
In related news, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be seen in public on Friday, Oct. 12, when they attend Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The ceremony will start at 11 a.m., but the members of the royal family are expected to arrive minutes earlier.
Isabella Sullivan, a journalist for Express, claimed that Markle has helped Princess Eugenie with her wedding planning. But this doesn’t mean she will have a special part during her ceremony.
“Princess Eugenie and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank made a trip to see the couple around a month ago for Meghan to help the bride-to-be with her wedding plans,” a source said.
