Meghan Markle Called 'The Duchess of Disingenuousness' By Piers Morgan Days Before Oprah Interview Airs
TV host Piers Morgan has taken a jab at Meghan Markle just before her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah airs calling her “The Duchess of Disingenuousness.”
Markle and Prince Harry have been in the spotlight since leaving the Royal Family in March 2020. Their most recent endeavor is having a long-awaited interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS that’ll air on March 7, which also marks their first interview after stopping their royal duties.
A promo of the episode has been released and the “Good Morning Britain” host shared his thoughts about what’s to come.
After hearing Markle talk about the royal family spreading lies about her, according to CBS, others agreed that she is money hungry and disrespectful towards her husband’s family.
“It's very wrong to marry someone with whom one's has no shared values. Harry got this wrong. Period! I feel sad watching this... she clearly has no respect for Harry, her kids, family and relationship at large. The question is: what is she after? Definitely not peace,” one Twitter user stated.
As for a few others, they’ve come out of the woodworks to defend her, including her former “Suits” co-star, Patrick Adams.
Morgan even went as far as to say that princes need to stop marrying American women, citing back to the Duke of Windsor, who abdicated his throne in order to stay married to his American wife, Wallis Simpson, which set the stage for Queen Elizabeth II's historical rule, with her father becoming King as a result.
Neither Markle nor Prince Harry have spoken out against Morgan and his statements.
"You know, for me, I'm just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you, with my wife by my side," Harry said as a part of the interview. "Because I can't begin to imagine what it must have been life for her, going through this process by herself, all those years ago. Because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us — but at least we had each other."
The interview will air on CBS on March 7, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.
