Meghan Markle Called ‘Social Climber’ By Piers Morgan; Are Rumors True?
Meghan Markle has been dubbed a social climber by “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan.
In his column for Daily Mail, the 53-year-old said that he was left feeling suspicious and cynical of Markle after she dumped him when someone as influential as Prince Harry entered her life.
“And nothing in her behavior since marrying Prince Harry has alleviated those concerns. From the moment I read that he barked ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!’ at palace courtiers in the run-up to the wedding, my heart sank. Because I fear that’s exactly what she’s used to getting. And anyone or anything that may not give her what she wants or gets in the way of her social-climbing self-advancement gets discarded,” he wrote.
Morgan also said that he believes the rumors spread by palace insiders about Markle are true. “And given my unfortunate experience with her, I’m afraid I’m not remotely surprised. But she’s now finding out the hard way that if you try to ‘play’ the royals and the royal household like she played people like me, you’ll come up against a system you can never beat. Just like the late Princess Diana or Sarah, Duchess of York,” he said.
Morgan didn’t go into detail about how Princess Diana and Ferguson challenged the lives of the royals and the royal household, but he did accuse Markle of ghosting him.
“I knew her for about a year and a half. I got on really well with her and then ‘bang’ she met someone more important and immediately ghosted. I never ever heard from her again and the old slippery slope ladder had gone up and she social climbed her way out of my orbit. So, my experience wasn’t great, I’ve got to be honest with you,” he said during a recent interview (via Express).
Morgan didn’t also receive an invitation from Markle and Prince Harry to attend their royal wedding on May 19. Following the star-studded event, Morgan wondered how Markle was able to stomach the fact that A-listers were present at her wedding, but only her mom, Doria Ragland, was there.
“It smacked of ruthless and rather distasteful social climbing by a woman who was absolutely delighted when they met in my pub,” he wrote for Daily Mail.
