Meghan Markle Comes Under Fire One Week After Engagement To Prince Harry?
Meghan Markle is in the middle of tons of controversies just one week after she and Prince Harry announced that they are engaged.
While there were a lot of people who were delighted for the couple, there were reportedly some that said negative things about the future royal. According to E! News, the issues surrounding the “Suits” star started after one of her childhood friends sat down for an interview.
During Ninaki Priddy’s interview with the Daily Mail, she revealed that she and Markle are no longer speaking at the moment. Priddy said that she also disapproved the way that Markle ended her marriage to Trevor Engelson.
Priddy also said that who Markle is now isn’t the friend she once knew. “Look at her, she was so ecstatic. The person I knew is not there anymore. Meg used to tell me she can’t imagine a life without Trevor. She said if anything were to happen to him she wouldn’t be able to go on,” she said.
Meanwhile, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, is reportedly writing a memoir, titled “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.” The timing of her work coincides with Markle’s engagement to the prince. However, it is unclear if this is the actual title of her memoir.
According to E! News, Markle and Samantha don’t have a good relationship with each other. The latter also said that she doubts her half-sister would ask their dad to walk her down the aisle.
However, Samantha also graced “Good Morning Britain” (via People) last week where she gushed over her sister. “As you can imagine, she’s very creative, charming, lovely, full of life, very vibrant and she’s never changed. She’s just so sweet and charming. I’ve seen that so much in her recently. She’s overwhelmingly happy. So all that comes out. It’s nice!” she said.
When asked to comment on the fact that Markle will soon be marrying a prince, Samantha said that their family isn’t concerned about that.
“I don’t think it’s so much who he is in terms of royalty as who he is as a man. I can see she’s just bubbling. It’s so charming and so warm,” she said.
The negative attention isn’t something new for an incoming royal. Prior to marrying Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, in 2011, Kate Middleton, who is now known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, also faced much scrutiny. As reported by E! Online, like Markle, Catherine’s friends also spoke to the press after she announced her engagement to Prince William in 2010.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are due to wed in May at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in London.
