Meghan Markle Committed Major Royal Protocol Violation That William, Kate Avoid

Meghan Markle committed a royal protocol violation that Prince William and Kate Middleton avoid.

The Duchess of Sussex agreed for a one-on-one interview with the fiercely traditional British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. Markle once again exposed her vulnerability when she spoke about therapy language. However, according to Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast, Markle is breaking a protocol for doing so.

“It’s worth noting that doing such a piece is a major breach of royal protocol: Prince William and Kate Middleton have a strict rule to never give one-on-one newspaper interviews, the Queen has never given one and Prince Charles has only done so on rare occasions,” Sykes wrote.

Prince William and Middleton are particularly very careful when it comes to gracing interviews. Camilla Tominey revealed that she called Middleton for an interview following her split from Prince William but the duchess declined.

Middleton told the royal correspondent that she had never graced interviews and didn’t want to start it. Even if Middleton doesn’t agree to do interviews, she has been praised for the way she handles the press.

“I have to say I was so impressed by her. There were days when there were TV crews at the end of the drive. We'd say: 'Listen, do you want to go out the back way?' And she'd say: 'To be honest, they're going to hound us until they've got the picture. So why don't I just go, get the picture done, and then they'll leave us alone,” Belle Robinson shared.

According to Sykes, Markle’s interview happened during the duchess’ visit at the Luminary Bakery. The bakery aims to empower disadvantaged women through training and employment opportunities in the baking world.

Markle and Prince Harry got candid in their interview for ITV documentary. Many were moved as they opened up about their struggles as royals under the scrutiny of the press and as first-time parents. However, some felt that Prince Harry has changed.

According to a netizen on Twitter, Prince Harry looked tired, sick and exhausted. She felt that Prince Harry was a mess after Markle encouraged him to speak up about his mental health issues and added that “in life sometimes silence is healing and gold.”
