Meghan Markle Coronavirus Efforts ‘Worth Little,’ Prince Harry Selfish For Not Returning To UK

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s coronavirus efforts were recently criticized by a royal commentator.

While speaking with Express, Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done very little to help the nation during the global health pandemic. As of late, the royal couple has not done anything other than posting some tips on their official Instagram account.

“However logical leaving Britain for Canada and then leaving Canada for Hollywood may seem to them, their contribution to helping those afflicted and those feeling threatened by COVID-19 has been limited to a few Instagram posts which are worth little,” he said.

Fitzwilliams also said that the timing of Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to move to Los Angeles may be perceived as selfish by their critics. Instead of flying back to the United Kingdom to temporarily be of help to Prince Charles and the royal family, the Sussexes moved to the United States instead.

“Harry was brought up by both Charles and Diana with certain values including a sense of duty and to care for others, a characteristic he has shown so well with the founding of the Invictus Games and Sentebale in Lesotho as well as his work for Heads Together, the mental health charity. The timing of their move was because of the imminent closing of the borders between the US and Canada. Yet the image this will create is that they are on a journey for themselves at a time when their undoubted global reach could give some succor to others,” he said.

The royal commentator also claimed that the Sussexes missed a rare opportunity by not returning to the United Kingdom amid the coronavirus outbreak. If Prince Harry and Markle flew back home to with the royal family, this would have been seen as a selfless move and they would’ve been praised for it.

But at the end of the day, it seems true that whatever Markle wants she gets that’s why they relocated to the US this week.
