Meghan Markle Could Change ‘Royal Fortune’ After Marrying Prince Harry

Meghan Markle could follow Kate Middleton’s footsteps by bringing in huge fortune for the royal family.

According to UK experts Brand Finance CEO David Haigh, the “Suits” actress could have the so-called “Meghan effect” that’s very similar to what happened to Middleton after she married Prince William.

When Markle marries Prince Harry, the actress could rake in huge sums of money to the UK Monarchy and economy. It is being predicted that there will once again be a surge in the sales of clothing and homeware brands that Markle will be seen wearing, buying or using.

“Although it’s difficult to speculate about numbers, it can be expected that Ms. Markle will join the Duchess of Cambridge as a great ambassador of the Monarchy, especially in her native United States and in Canada where she has recently lived,” Haighs told News.co.au. The “Meghan effect” is estimated at over $26 billion, and it will mostly come from unofficial endorsements of Markle.

In 2015, Haighs revealed that the “Kate effect” brought it billions of dollars as well. There was also a surge in everything that Middleton wore, bought or even touched when she was pregnant with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

But in 2017, there was a report that claimed Prince William and Middleton have agreed to focus on their kids’ privacy so they deliberately dressed them down in simple unbranded clothes.

“Nevertheless, the commercial impact of the royal children will grow with them, when they start making their own choices on what to wear, where to go on holidays, who to party with. The arrival of royal baby number three is also likely to help brands trading in baby clothes and care products,” the Brand Finance reported.

Meanwhile, the “Markle effect” will reach its peak once the actress’ engagement to Prince Harry is confirmed. When the couple ties the knot, there will also be a boost in the UK Monarchy and economy.

Markle recently landed in London to start her humanitarian work and all eyes are on the actress -- what she will wear, where she will eat, what she will do -- as she reunites with Prince Harry in the coming days.
