Meghan Markle Criticized For Wearing Oversized Shirt At Wimbledon With Kate Middleton
Meghan Markle was recently criticized for wearing an oversized shirt to Wimbledon. The Duchess of Sussex attended the tennis tournament with Kate Middleton on Saturday.
Francesca Specter, a journalist for Express, claimed that Markle’s top didn’t suit her because it was too big. Specter also noted that Markle’s attire at Wimbledon was too casual for the event.
“Given its proportions and the way it bunched up on her figure, it might as well have been borrowed from husband Harry. The collar also appeared to be wonky at the back, half turned down and half turned up,” she wrote.
Markle paired her baggy Ralph Lauren shirt with her white trousers that were tightly fitted around her waist. The former actress’ bottoms were also from Ralph Lauren.
Prince Harry’s wife’s choice in clothing was even highlighted by the fact that she went to Wimbledon with Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge, who just gave birth to Prince Louis less than three months ago, wore a dress to the tennis match. Middleton also let her hair down, while Markle opted to have a messy bun.
However, this is not the first time that Markle was criticized for her attire. In April, she was accused of wearing an inappropriate dress at the memorial service of Stephen Lawrence. Markle wore a black V-neck sleeveless dress to the somber gathering. She paired her Hugo Boss dress with her beige pumps and clutch bag.
Royal critics immediately took their thoughts to Twitter when they saw Markle in her dress.
“It’s a memorial service for a murder victim. In a church. Is it too much to ask of Rachel to cover up with a jacket, wear stockings, sort out that messy hair for once and stop the holding hands!” one Twitter user wrote.
In a follow-up post, the same critic wrote, “Every time I see her I like her less and less. Inappropriate in every way.”
