Meghan Markle has only been photographed wearing a piece of jewelry from Queen Elizabeth’s royal collection once.

When she tied the know with Prince Harry last year, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed with the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara. Markle’s wedding was the first time that the beautiful headpiece was seen in public for the past 65 years.

After her royal wedding, Prince Harry’s wife has not borrowed jewelry from the Queen’s collection. And contrary to rumors, she is not banned from doing so.

While speaking with Express, stylist Charlotte Balbier said that Markle may have not worn pieces from the royal collection simply because the designs don’t suit her taste. And since Kate Middleton may like the designs, this is the reason why she continuously borrows pieces from Her Majesty.

According to Balbier, Markle and Middleton have very different tastes in jewelry. The Duchess of Cambridge loves to wear matching sets and colored stones. Her style is also more traditional compared to the Duchess of Sussex.

“Meghan is almost the complete opposite opting for fine pieces often delicate and small, almost smaller the better. Petite bangles and small earrings are Meghan’s signature look. Less is more,” she said.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Queen banned Markle from wearing jewelry from the royal collection after she assured Prince William that Princess Diana’s accessories will only be worn by his wife.

“The Queen is in charge of the royal collection, a massive collection of all of the artifacts that the country and the Royal Family own. Included in that are some iconic prices of jewelry, many of which have been loaned to Princess Diana,” The Sun’s Dan Wooton said.

In related news, Middleton has also befriended the Queen’s senior dresser, Angela Kelly, so that she could have easier access to the jewelry collection. Her Majesty has also allowed the mom of three to borrow whichever accessory she fancies.
