Meghan Markle Driving Force Of Megxit, Duchess Felt Like A ‘Civil Servant In Tiara’

Meghan Markle was reportedly the driving force of Megxit.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially become non-working royals on April 1. They made their announcement about stepping back from their royal roles in January. They carried out their last engagements in March, when they joined Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and more members of the Firm for the Commonwealth Day service.

Royal reporter Ashley Pearson is convinced that the former “Suits” star was the main reason why the Sussexes left the royal family. According to her, Markle didn’t like what she found out when she became a royal.

“She had no idea how un-glamorous it really is to be a royal and, when she found out she would be a civil servant in a tiara, she was like, ‘no way’,” Pearson told Market Watch.

Pearson wasn’t the only one who thinks that it was Markle who prompted their departure from the Firm. A palace insider said the same thing to royal correspondent Rebecca English. The source insisted that it was Markle’s idea and she even gave Prince Harry an ultimatum.

“Another senior royal source told me Meghan had issued her husband with a stark ultimatum: Archie and me are your family,” English wrote.

“Harry had been hopeful of finding a way to marry his desire for more freedom with his royal heritage, but Meghan convinced him there was no other option. She forced him to choose. He has spent three months convincing himself he has done the right thing.”

A different source also said a similar thing in September. Markle was reportedly very miserable and couldn’t contain herself in the U.K. anymore. She allegedly wanted to move to South Africa and she gave her husband an ultimatum that they would relocate or she would leave him. Markle reportedly made Prince Harry choose between her and his family and Prince William’s brother chose his wife.
