Meghan Markle Effect: Royal Expert Reflects On Duchess, Prince Harry’s Relationship, Popularity
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship reportedly catapulted the royal family to greater heights.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams recently looked back on the first year of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s engagement and said that they have taken over fans across the globe.
“Harry and Meghan are so wonderfully special because they are such a very modern couple, so caring and obviously in love. They have certainly made a unique impact on their first year. ‘Meghan Mania’ in the crowds and the ‘Meghan Effect’ in fashion are examples of her magical touch,” he told Express.
Fitzwilliams went on to discuss the many public appearances of Markle and Prince Harry where they were photographed interacting with children. He said that this made them more relatable especially to the youth.
“Harry encourages her to wow the crowds as he did her article in Vanity Fair where she talked about their romance which was undoubtedly a first for the girlfriend of a senior royal and a foretaste of what was to come. The fact that Meghan is biracial has undoubtedly broadened the appeal of the monarchy both in Britain and around the Commonwealth,” he explained.
“Their marriage was the clearest possible evidence of a seismic change in the institution which has retained its magic, and is also invaluable especially as Britain is so politically unstable at the moment. It is wonderful to see Harry, recently voted the most popular royal in a YouGov, so happy and so in love. Their chemistry together is ideal, it is a ‘marriage of true minds.’ The monarchy has never been more popular and symbolizes continuity at a time of chronic political instability too,” he added.
In related news, Fitzwilliams also commended Markle’s fashion throughout the entire year since her engagement to Prince Harry. The expert described the “Suits” alum’s style as a marvelous mix. Fitzwilliams also acknowledged the fact that Markle’s wardrobe is the most-watched among royal fans.
