Meghan Markle Had MI-5 Agent On ‘Suits’ Set, Says TV Dad
Meghan Markle wrapped up her run as Rachel Zane on USA’s “Suits” earlier this year, a few weeks before marrying Prince Harry in May. While it’s been a few months since then, details about her final days on the set of the show are still coming out. The most recent tidbit? She apparently had an MI-5 agent with her while filming.
Wendell Pierce, who played Markle’s father on the series and still portrays the character, spoke with Extra all about the Duchess of Sussex, her relationship with Prince Harry and the British security service agent.
“She is really wonderful,” he told said. “I actually didn’t believe it was real, then all of a sudden I turn around and there is this guy from MI-5 on set every day… The one thing that was clear, she was extremely happy… She had a glow. I knew she was in love… With the whirlwind of publicity and the world of being a royal now, the one thing that’s constant is the fact that I know she loves him.”
Markle filmed her last few “Suits” scenes in the middle of November 2017 before announcing her engagement at the end of the month, along with the news that she was quitting acting, as well. She told BBC that she was “transitioning” out of the profession. The Season 7 finale of the USA legal drama was her final acting project.
Before and during her time on the drama, Markle had a few movie roles, which helped make up her net worth of $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. She was in Robert Pattinson’s 2010 movie “Remember Me,” which was produced by her ex-husband Trevor Engelson. Her list of acting credits also included two movies on Hallmark Channel, 2014’s “When Sparks Fly” and 2016’s “Dater’s Handbook.” Her first ever acting role was on a 2002 episode of “General Hospital.”
Now, married to Prince Harry and done with acting, Markle is busy with her royal engagements, as well as various charitable efforts.
