Meghan Markle has to learn from Prince Philip’s advice to Princess Diana.

The Duchess of Sussex has just faced a number of controversy following her Vogue gig. Many were impressed, but some felt that she made a faux pas for not including Queen Elizabeth II. She also failed to mention Prince Harry’s name in the introduction.

Following the controversies, Ingrid Seward urged Markle to “take the advice” that Prince Philip once gave to Princess Diana. She believed that the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince of Wales have more of a “right to their view” because they have been there and done it while Markle is still a very new member of the royal family.

“He said to Diana ‘it’s dangerous to take personally the attention that comes your way as a member of the Royal Family,’” Seward said, recalling Prince Philip advice to Princess Diana.

Radio host Mike Graham interjected, saying, “Now that’s very good advice, isn’t it.”

“It's very good advice. Let me just add this bit, he then said ‘it’s your position that puts you in the limelight and nothing else’,” Seward continued.

“Yes, also true. Very true,” Graham agreed.

Journalist Sally Jones also criticized Markle for being “extraordinary hypocritical in some of her stances.” She felt that the Duchess of Sussex had the potential and it’s either she’s not well advised or she’s not listening to the advice.

Commentator Carole Malone felt the same way about Markle being “hypocrite.” According to Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, Markle declined to grace the Vogue cover because she felt that in some ways it would be a “boastful” thing to do. However, Malone was not convincd because Markle did it many times before.

“I think that’s hypocrisy on a grand scale. She has been on covers of big magazines as well, she was on the cover just before she was married,” Malone said.

Meanwhile, many thought that Markle was throwing some shade to her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge just graced the Vogue cover three years ago for its centenary issue. Also, Princess Diana appeared on the magazine cover, not just once, but four times.
