Meghan Markle has not lost her American accent contrary to the speculations.

Nicola Harrison, a vocal coach from the Oxford University, explained to Express what really happened to the Duchess of Sussex when she spoke in “Queen of the World.”

“Meghan hasn’t lost her American accent, but she has become a much more effective communicator,” she said.

Harrison also compared that way Markle spoke in “Queen of the World” to her panel discussion in 2016 and said that the tone in Prince Harry’s wife’s voice has evolved.

“In the old video, Meghan seems excitable, with the higher and more shrill tones in her voice with a more prominent and a high-intensity delivery, speaking very quickly, and – for the British – what would appear as slightly exaggerated gestures. Her behavior is more elegant, but speech is slower, more thoughtful and measured. She is speaking more expansively and this allows her intention – and charm – to shine through. It is well paced with gestures that are related directly to what Meghan is saying rather than random ideas,” she explained.

The vocal coach said that Markle’s way of speaking at the moment is much more engaging and effective especially since she’s a royal. People that are listening to her interviews can understand what she’s saying more easily.

In related news, Judi James, a body language expert, said that Markle employs four subtle but very powerful body language techniques when speaking to the public.

“Firstly, Meghan uses what is called the ‘Upturned V’ gap under her armpits. This gap size is ideal, with the elbows held away from the waist, and is a gesture used effectively by Michelle Obama as well. It also has an interpersonal effect, making a speaker feel more confident as well as looking it,” she told Express.

And when it comes to making eye contact, Markle connects with the entire audience. She also makes a lot of hand gestures when talking to the public.

“Her empathic hand gesture is a scooping movement with splayed fingers. This projects passion and enthusiasm for her cause. Then Meghan brings her hands back into a clasp in between gestures, pulling the hands over and back slightly in a signal of self-effacing modesty,” she said.
