Meghan Markle ‘Helped’ Dad Win Lottery; Money Used For Duchess’ Education
Meghan Markle reportedly helped her dad win a huge sum of money in the lottery years ago.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton said in his book “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess” that Thomas Markle Sr.’s huge win of $750,000 in the California State Lottery in 1990 made it possible for him to no longer work a brutal schedule as a lighting director.
The Duchess of Sussex helped his dad win simply because he included his daughter’s birthdate in the five numbers that he betted on. Thomas used the huge sum of money to send Markle to school.
Last year, Prince Harry’s wife’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., told Daily Mail that the “Suits” may have won the lottery of life for marrying the Duke of Sussex. However, it is their dad’s actual lottery win that helped all of them.
“That money allowed Meg to go to the best schools and get the best training. Meg is someone who has always had laser focus,” Thomas Jr. said.
Markle is no longer in contact with her dad and her half-siblings. She has not spoken to them in almost a year. Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, recently announced that she will be releasing two books titled “In the Shadow of the Duchess I” and “In the Shadow of the Duchess II.”
The first book will be released in April, around the time that Markle will give birth to her first child. The second book will be available in July, just weeks before the Duchess’ 38th birthday.
According to Samantha, the book will shed light on who Markle really is and will also debunk the claims that she was raised as an only child. While speaking with Daily Star, Samantha said that readers can expect nothing less but the truth from her books.
“I have a very big mouth and I speak my mind – as the world can see – at any cost, even if it makes me unpopular, but I tell the truth even if it makes me unpopular,” she said.
