Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton's Future Will Look Different As 'Big Change' Is Coming
Even though the new year has officially begun, some royal watchers are continuing to look back at 2019.
Now, thanks to the Court Circular, a new list has been compiled that has highlighted which members of the British royal family attended the most engagements last year. Where did Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, and others end up in the rankings?
According to Express, the Royal family attended 3,567 working engagements overall throughout the year, which was down from the 3,793 they completed in 2018. Princess Anne topped the list at 195, while the Duchess of Sussex ended up at the bottom with 28. Last year, the former "Suits" actress included various public appearances, such as visiting special initiatives while on her royal tour of Africa with Prince Harry and attending certain events that celebrate bravery.
Kate Middleton came in at 56 royal engagements in 2019, which included going on her royal tour of Pakistan with Prince William and a December appearance where she reportedly exhibited "dramatic changes."

Pertaining to how this could affect the royal family moving forward in 2020, royal expert Omid Scobie stated that Meghan, Harry, William, and Kate will have to "put in a lot more work" in the new year. A component of this "big change," Scobie stated, is because of Kate's increased involvement in royal duties that's needed due to Queen Elizabeth II stepping back.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter echoed that sentiment as she confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge's "schedule needs to start building now, as she offers her support to the Queen as well." Continuing, she added that "2020 is going to get a lot busier for all of them, as we see Andrew out of the mix now." This, in turn, she believes will increase the workload for all of the other royals moving forward.
