Meghan Markle ‘Made No Attempt’ To Attend Kate Middleton’s Birthday Celebration
When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to take “a step back” from their duties, the announcement put a strain on the 38-year-old’s relationship with Kate Middleton. A royal biographer claimed the recent rift caused the Duchess of Sussex to skip her sister-in-law’s 38th birthday celebration.
Following Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018, reports suggested the former “Suits” star didn’t get along with Prince William’s wife. Although the women appeared to be in great spirits whenever photographed with one another, it seems whatever bond they built has been damaged.
Phil Dampier told Fabulous Digital that Meghan had no interest in celebrating Kate’s birthday. “Meghan’s friendship and relationship with Kate now seems fragile, and she obviously made no attempt to go to Kensington Palace to wish her well on her 38th birthday, preferring to return to Canada,” the royal author revealed.
Although Meghan may have snubbed Kate’s birthday celebration, the Sussexes wished Kate a “very happy birthday” in the comment section of Kensington Palace’s Instagram account.
While Kate may not have the best relationship with Meghan at the moment, she is on great terms with Queen Elizabeth. During a conversation with Fox News, royal commentator Neil Sean reflected on the Duchess of Cambridge’s close relationship with the monarch.
“We all know the queen has welcomed Meghan warmly into the royal family, but unlike Meghan, Kate has brought nothing but serenity to her majesty. No huge tabloid busts up with the in-laws and fathers. What has really evolved is how gently and quietly the queen is sublimely guiding, advising and helping in a very discreet manner the future queen that will be Kate.
“A courtier told me that ‘Kate is the queen’s number one priority as she knows it will be her who the real monarchy will fall onto in the future.’”
