Meghan Markle is reportedly more valuable than Kate Middleton to the fashion industry.

Emily Nash, a royal commentator, told Express that the Kate effect started with the Duchess of Cambridge years ago, but there is a so-called Meghan effect at the moment, and it is much bigger than the Kate effect.

ABC Royals Contributor Imogen Lloyd Webber said that Middleton is worth $1.4 billion a year to the fashion industry. But despite the seemingly high figure, fashion journalist and former editor-at-large of Vogue Andre Leon Talley said that what Princess Diana was to the world of fashion and style is what Markle is today.

Middleton and Markle have very different styles, but they both appeal to the British public. In recent months, they have also been spotted swapping fashion choices during their engagements.

In related news, Middleton and Markle also made headlines today after it was reported that they patched things up on Christmas Day. A source claimed that the two women also participated in the traditional quiz games at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate.

“If German and British troops could put their differences to one side to play football during World War I, the feeling was Kate and Meghan could follow suit for Scrabble. After watching the Queen’s speech, the board games were brought out and both women got suck in,” a source said.
