Meghan Markle may be the most unfairly treated person of 2019, a new poll shows.
PlayOJO surveyed thousands of individuals and half of them agreed that the Duchess of Sussex has had a particularly bad year.
A spokesperson for PlayOJO told Express that they want to offer Prince Harry’s wife some respite after having a tumultuous year.
"Ever since her relationship with Prince Harry became public, she has become the victim of severe and often unjustified criticism. It’s no surprise the nation thinks she’s been the most unfairly treated person of 2019,” the spokesperson said.
Those who participated in the survey were also asked to think of ways on how the public could make Markle’s year fairer. Some of them said that the Duchess of Sussex should be given a break. Others also encouraged the royal to get a drink.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle are currently enjoying their break from royal duties in the United States. The royal couple will be celebrating Christmas with Doria Ragland in Los Angeles, and they are scheduled to return to London in early January.
While the royal couple is away, reports swirled that Kate Middleton stole the spotlight from the Sussexes after she appeared in the BBC special “A Berry Royal Christmas” with Prince William.
After the holiday show aired this week, royal fans took their thoughts to Twitter to congratulate the Cambridges for a wonderful show.
“I didn’t know it was possible but after watching this show, I love the Cambridges even more now,” Twitter user @loveforcambridg wrote.
“If I am honest, I always said William is not good enough for my Kate. That changed after watching this!” Twitter user @Catefortier said.
“Whilst the news is dark and dreary, it feels good to seeing people like Mary Berry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who are living their best lives through the service of others,” Twitter user @AAnglophile said.
