Meghan Markle, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Had Secret Meeting For This Reason
Meghan Markle held a secret meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern earlier this week.
On Monday, Ardern also met up with Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street. The two leaders discussed a post-Brexit free trade deal between the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Markle’s recent meeting with Ardern was not the first time that the two women met. In October, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out with New Zealand’s prime minister a couple of times, including a trip to the Auckland War Memorial Museum and a visit to the charity Pillars.
Other than their official jobs, Katie Harris, a journalist for Express, said that it is also possible for Markle and Ardern to have bonded over motherhood. Prince Harry’s wife is currently pregnant with their first baby, and Ardern was recently named as the second world leader to have given birth while in office. Ardern also took 6-month maternity leave after giving birth in June of last year.
Markle’s pregnancy was announced by Kensington Palace after she and Prince Harry arrived in Australia on Oct. 14. The Duchess of Sussex is currently six months pregnant, and she is expected to give birth either at the end of April or at the beginning of May.
As of late, it is still unclear what Markle’s baby’s sex will be and what name they will give to their offspring. However, the royal couple has given some hints during their outings. Last year, Prince Harry declared that he wants to have a baby girl. Markle also said that the name Amy has a nice ring to it.
During their trip to Birkenhead, Prince Harry asked one of the royal fans how her daughter’s name was spelled. Markle and Prince Harry revealed that they chose not to know their baby’s sex beforehand because they want it to come as a surprise.
The would-be parents, who are in the process of designing their child’s nursery, opted for neutral colors for the room. This proves that they have no idea if they will have a boy or a girl.
