Meghan Markle has been accused of faking her pregnancy for months. And on Christmas Day, the same conspiracy theory resurfaced.

On Twitter, one netizen accused the Duchess of Sussex of faking her pregnancy so that she could get money from the royal family.

“Meghan Markle faked a pregnancy because she couldn't get pregnant and needed a baby to get money. She won't get Royal money because of a prenuptial nor Harry's money as he's not rich. That leaves only money from a baby which the Palace will fund. She'll live off that,” Twitter user @CABRAXAS10 said.

“She also wasn’t aware of the ‘out of body’ law, which precludes children born via a surrogate from being in the line of succession,” Twitter user @Carol77036342 said.

“It is more likely that she used a surrogate… she couldn’t get pregnant or couldn’t be bothered. It seems to be common in Hollywood… Harry would be complicit in the deception,” Twitter user @I_Phoenix_Rise said.

However, some supporters of Markle quickly came to her defense.

“You’re crazy, you know that right? Why would they fake a baby?” Twitter user @1JoJoHopper said.

“Where have you come up with this from? That’s quite a conspiracy theory you have. They were married five minutes before she was up the duff. Not enough time to know they couldn’t conceive,” the same Twitter user added.

Rumors regarding Markle faking her first pregnancy first came to light after eagle-eyed netizens noticed that her baby bump seemed to deflate. This led the public to think that Markle was just wearing a strap on rubber belly. However, these theories are evidently unfounded.

Markle didn’t fake her growing baby bump and her pregnancy with Archie because there’s absolutely no reason to. The Duchess of Sussex also stepped out in public a handful of times while she was pregnant, and it was evident how her bump grew throughout those nine months.
