  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle allegedly broke their Megxit deal when they spoke about the U.S. election
  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's move to encourage the people to vote was interpreted by many as their way of supporting Joe Biden
  • Donald Trump said he is not a fan of Markle’s and wished Prince Harry a lot of luck because he will need it

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are accused of violating their Megxit deal after speaking about the U.S. election and even seemingly shaded President Donald Trump.

Royal correspondents Roya Nikkhah and Tim Shipman of The Sunday Times spoke to a royal aide who said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's recent speech was a "violation" of their "Megxit" deal with the Queen. Prince Harry and Markle have repeatedly said that they will continue to support the Queen. The duke even said he wished to "continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth and my military associations." However, their involvement in the upcoming U.S. election could jeopardize their connection to the monarchy, according to an insider.

“The [royal] family are all wringing their hands, thinking: where is this going and does this abide by the deal to uphold the values of the Queen? The feeling is it’s a violation of the agreement,” the insider told Nikkhah and Shipman.

The insider was referring to Prince Harry and Markle's speech urging the people in America to vote. They didn’t endorse Joe Biden, but many took their speech as a dig at the incumbent president.

"Now we're just six weeks out from Election Day, and today is National Voter Registration Day. Every four years, we are told the same thing, that 'this is the most important election of our lifetime.' But this one is," Markle said. "When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter. Because you do. And you deserve to be heard."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry asked everyone to "reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity" in "the most important election of our lifetime."

During a White House press conference, Trump was asked about the royal couple's video. A reporter pointed out to the president that the royal couple "essentially encouraged people to vote for Joe Biden." The POTUS then said he is not a fan of Markle’s and wished Prince Harry "a lot of luck" because he will need it.

Several also reacted to Trump's statement because he only went after Markle when Prince Harry also made a statement that seemingly shaded him. Some speculated that it was due to their past feud. Meanwhile, others believed that the POTUS didn't want to openly disrespect a member of the royal family by insulting the Queen's grandson.
