Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly considering relocating to a Malibu mansion.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced last month that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Prince Harry and Markle also said that they will work to be financially independent. Following their bombshell announcement, the couple flew to Canada.
According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry and Markle are planning to relocate to a $7 million mansion in Malibu, which was formerly owned by “Baywatch” star David Charvet and his wife, Brooke Burke. The residence is only a 30-mile trip from Markle’s mom Doria Ragland’s home and is accessible to potential business deals in Hollywood.
Prince Harry and Markle’s potential home in Malibu is also just around the corner from huge Hollywood names like “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr. and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Caitlyn Jenner.
The momager told Loose Women that she heard that the Sussexes were looking for a home in Malibu. Jenner said that maybe Prince Harry and Markle “had enough” that they decided to take a drastic step back from their royal duties. The reality star added that the incident must have been “very difficult” for the former “Suits” star.
“I can't predict as I've tried to raise our royal family in the US. It was probably very difficult for Meghan, coming into the Royal Family,” Jenner said when asked for her opinion on what will happen to the royal couple next.
“It was a big shock to her, she's probably had enough. Good for them, we'll see how it goes. I heard they were looking for a house in Malibu. It must have been tough. Everyone deserves to be happy,” she added.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II was praised for banning the Sussexes from using the royal brand. Several supported the monarch’s decision saying that she only did the right thing. Many also felt that Her Majesty outplayed Prince Harry and Markle.
“I find myself admiring the British monarchy when it stands its ground. The attempt to monetize your royalty while being disloyal to the royal family—is just grotesque,” Yoram Hazony, author of “The Virtue of Nationalism,” wrote on Twitter.
