Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had an awkward encounter with a particular person while attending a friend’s wedding.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Italy to attend Misha Nonoo’s wedding in Rome on Thursday. Many celebrities were present at the event and Markle and Prince Harry had to deal with an awkward encounter with Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter, who also attended the nuptials, New Idea first reported.

Things between Markle and Trump went sour ever since the U.S. president called the former “Suits” star “nasty” after she called the politician “divisive” and “misogynic” in 2016.

Prince Harry was dragged into the rumored tension between his wife and Trump during the president’s official state visit to the U.K. Markle didn’t attend the state banquet that Queen Elizabeth II hosted for Trump at Buckingham Palace, but Prince Harry was there.

However, many noticed that the duke did not have his normal friendly disposition. One onlooker even slammed Prince Harry for failing to take part in his royal duties by looking grumpy.

“Harry did look grumpy and as if he didn’t want to be there,” royal commentator Ingrid Seward said.

“Whatever his personal feelings, it’s his duty to support the Queen regardless and take a tip from his grandmother who has never allowed her personal feelings to interfere with her duty. It’s bad manners and rude.”

Markle wasn’t the only royal who received harsh comments from the U.S. politician. Trump also commented on Kate Middleton’s controversial topless photos that landed on the covers of tabloids. He directly blamed the duchess for the scandal.

“Kate Middleton is great--but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude--only herself to blame,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing,” he wrote in a different tweet. “Come on Kate!”

Just like Prince Harry, Prince William wasn’t very warm to Trump. In 2018, Trump also visited the U.K., but the Duke of Cambridge and Prince of Wales refused to attend a meeting with him, which was deemed a snub to the U.S. president.
