Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Have Visited This Country, But William Hasn't
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton have all traveled to one country that Prince William has not set foot in.
Kara Godfrey, a journalist for Express, said that the three royals have all been to Ireland, but Prince William hasn’t. Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went to Dublin for an official engagement. While there, the royal couple attended a GAA festival at Croke Park. They also visited Trinity College and the Famine Memorial.
In 2007, Middleton also went to Ireland with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. This wasn’t part of her official engagement because the Duchess of Cambridge only tied the knot with Prince William in 2011. In fact, Godfrey noted that Middleton and Prince William were on a break from their relationship when she vacationed in Ireland.
As of late, Prince William has not yet been to Ireland because the country is not a member of the Commonwealth. As such, the Duke of Cambridge isn’t required to head to the destination for his official engagements.
But even though Ireland is not a member of the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth II went to the country in 2011. Doing so made her the first British monarch to set foot in Ireland in 100 years.
Meanwhile, even though Prince William has not yet been to Ireland, he became the first member of the royal family to go to Israel and Jordan. Royals were previously discouraged to set foot in the two countries due to the growing political tensions in the region.
Queen Elizabeth II has never been to Israel and Jordan. However, she is still the most traveled member of the royal family. Her Majesty has not also been to Greece and Bhutan due to the ongoing political issues in the two countries. The Queen has not also been to a number of destinations in Asia and South America.
