Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reportedly Expecting Second Baby; Announcement Before Year Ends
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly expecting their second baby already.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just welcomed their firstborn in May. However, according to Chadielle Fayad of New Idea, they could make another baby announcement before the year ends.
Royal experts and punters are expecting another baby announcement from Prince Harry and Markle. The new addition to the Sussexes would not be a big surprise since Prince Harry already said that he wanted to have two kids.
Betting company Ladbrokes have already cut odds of Prince Harry and Markle making a baby announcement this year from 8/1 to 3/1 after a flurry of bets came in.
“Harry and Meghan clearly aren’t messing around and if the latest odds are anything to go by, the pair could be adding to their family next year,” Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said.
Meanwhile, bookmaker Coral said in June that royal fans are “almost certain” that baby Archie will have a sibling soon. Bookmakers are offering 2/1 on the baby announcement happening in 2021 and 5/1 for 2022.
“It’s almost certain that Meghan and Harry will add to their blossoming family in the next few years and we think a second pregnancy is most likely to come next year,” Harry Aitkenhead of Coral said. “It’s 8-1 for Meghan to announce she is expecting again by the end of the year and whilst the odds may be long you can’t rule it out.”
Aikenhead added that the couple is sure that Archie won’t be their only child. The favorite year when they make their next baby announcement is 2020.
However, pregnancy expert Nabila Fowles-Gutierrez suggested that Prince Harry and Markle should wait for two years before they attempt another baby. Markle is already 38 years old and women who conceive 6 months after giving birth are at 70 percent higher risk of preterm birth than women who space their babies from 12 to 23 months.
Gutierrez said that women approaching 40 like Markle are pressured to leave closer gaps between babies since 40 can be considered a high-risk age for pregnancy. However, she still did not recommend a gap of less than 12 months.
