Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Canada Vacation Reportedly Inspired By This Royal
KEY POINTS
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still in Canada
- The royal couple's trip is reportedly inspired by Princess Diana
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will return to London in January
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been vacationing in Canada for the past couple of weeks.
In November, the couple announced that they won’t be celebrating Christmas in Sandringham with the royal family. Their decision was approved by Queen Elizabeth, who reportedly understood why the Sussexes wanted to spend time with Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.
According to Express, the Sussexes may be following in footsteps of Princess Diana, who traveled to Vancouver, Canada with Prince Charles in 1986.
But unlike the Prince and Princess of Wales’ trip, which only took place for a few days, Prince Harry and Markle’s stay in Canada is much longer. It is also important to note that Prince Charles and Princess Diana traveled to Canada for a series of royal engagements and not for vacation.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines this week for reportedly trademarking the official name of their charity months after splitting from Prince William and Kate Middleton.
According to People, the filing to register a trademark for the organization, Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, took place on June 21. However, the filing wasn’t published until last week.
The trademark allows Prince Harry and Markle to take legal action against anyone who will use their brand without permission.
One day before the filing, the palace announced that Prince William and Middleton’s organization will move forward without the involvement of Prince Harry and Markle.
“Later this year The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,” the statement revealed.
During that time, rumors swirled that the split has to do with Prince William and Prince Harry’s alleged feud, as well as Markle and Middleton’s issues. But the palace denied the claims by saying that the split has more to do with preparing for the Cambridges future roles as king and Queen of the United Kingdom.
