Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have expressed their gratitude toward the volunteers by writing an endearing letter to them amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The royal couple wrote a letter to a charity named StreetGames and praised the volunteers for the wonderful work they have been doing during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The charity has been distributing food to the vulnerable communities living in London since the outbreak.

The meals are being prepared by Markle’s patronage, the Hubb Community Kitchen. Administered by a group of women, the Hubb Community Kitchen prepares fresh meals for the local community across the capital.

In their message, Harry and Markle noted that they wanted to thank the team behind StreetGames for doing such an incredible work amid the global health crisis. The couple further stated that the charity and its partners have done a “fantastic” job at distributing fresh food to those who were in dire need of it.

“We wanted to write and express our heartfelt thanks to the team at StreetGames. To know that the North Paddington Youth Club, Solidarity Sports, and St. Matthews Project distributed hundreds of freshly prepared meals across their networks of young people over the last few months is fantastic,” the couple wrote.

Later in the letter, the royal couple explained that the impact of the life-threatening illness has been really “scary” all around the world.

“The impact of Covid-19 has been a scary and testing time for so many people from all walks of life, all over the world. However, it is difficult times like these that goodwill to others and community spirit prevails,” the couple wrote.

Prince Harry and Markle concluded the letter by saying that the charity’s “selflessness” inspires others to do better.

“We have been touched to witness from afar the coming together of the organizations we champion and so deeply care about. The compassion and leadership of young people across StreetGames is vital, and it is their kindness and selflessness that inspires others to do better,” the couple wrote.

The U.K. is the fifth worst area to be affected by the disease. As of late, the nation has witnessed more than 300,000 cases and 42,927 deaths due to COVID-19.
