Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Hospital Choice Compared To A Hotel: ‘Very Luxurious’
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly chosen a hospital for the duchess’ delivery.
According to Emily Hodgkin, a journalist for Express, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen Frimley Park Hospital. The facility is the same birthplace for Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s two children. It has a private wing where Markle is expected to give birth.
Local moms described the hospital a hotel in terms of price and service.
“It's like going into a hotel,” Jennifer Mancey said of the facility.
According to her, the beds were perfectly made out as if they've just been ironed and every room was different so it was more personal.
Another mom agreed saying that the private suite was “perfect.” Aside from the rooms, the hospital serves superb food. According to Jessica Moore, the food in the hospital is “fantastic” because they offer healthy food and cook it fresh. Also, one can even have vegan burgers if he or she wants it.
“It's maybe even been modelled on expensive, private suites because it does look very luxurious,” Moore said. “It's like a home-from-home. It's perfect. If I had a choice I wouldn't give birth anywhere else.”
Previous reports claimed that Markle snubbed Kate Middleton’s hospital choice. However, a source told Sebastian Shakespeare that the duchess’ choice is only fitting because she’s already living in Windsor and the said hospital is more accessible compared to St. Mary’s.
Frimley Park is only 15 miles away from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Frogmore home. Meanwhile, St. Mary’s is 23 miles away.
However, some also claimed that Markle preferred to give birth at home. According to Rebecca English, royal correspondent for Daily Mail, the duchess wanted to follow Queen Elizabeth II’s footsteps by having a midwife-led birth at the Frogmore Cottage. However, the royal couple reportedly didn’t rule out the possibility of a hospital delivery as Markle is over 35 years old already and has increased risk of premature birth, the need for epidural or caesarean.
In related news, Markle might give birth to her baby soon. The latest betting odds suggest that she might deliver her first baby with Prince Harry this week.
