Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a valid reason why they didn’t make it to Kate Middleton’s birthday party.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly snubbed the Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday bash in Norfolk. Many took it as another sign that their rift is still ongoing.

The Sun journalist Dan Wootton appeared on “Lorraine” and spoke why Prince Harry and Markle didn’t attend the get-together for Middleton’s 37th birthday. According to him, a lot of people found the couple’s absence odd especially since the fab four were rumored to be having a rift.

“Would (Meghan) not be there given that they are so intent on people asking about the rift that isn’t? But, to be honest, the rift very much is,” Wootton said.

“But there is a but here, Meghan and Harry were on holiday,” he added.

It remains unknown where the couple went for their trip. However, it was clear that Prince Harry and Markle didn’t make it to Middleton’s birthday bash because they were away.

Middleton and Markle were rumored to be feuding since Christmas of 2017. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to their home for the holidays at Prince Charles’ request at the time. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well.

Last Christmas, Prince William, Middleton, Prince Harry and Markle reunited for the royal family’s traditional Christmas morning service. The two duchesses were photographed smiling and chatting amid the claims that they were feuding. However, according to body language expert, Middleton and Markle only put on a united front for the cameras.

Angela Mollard suggested a way to see if Middleton and Markle have really mended fences. According to her, the two royals have different patronages, but they are still expected to reunite for some charity events. If royal fans don’t see Middleton and Markle coming together for a charity work this year, then it means that there’s indeed a falling-out.

In related news, Middleton had two birthday celebrations — one in Norfolk days before her actual birthday and one on her special day. Among Middleton’s guests in Anmer Hall were her close friends Laura Meade, Emilia Jardine-Paterson and Sophie Carter. The spouses of Middleton’s friends were also present at the celebration.

On her actual birthday, Middleton spent it privately with her family. Prince William was present on both occasions.
