Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly hosted an emotional lunch with the members of the household staff.

According to Page Six, the lunch left some of the royal couple’s trusted aides weeping and crying since they will soon be saying goodbye to the Sussexes. In January, Prince Harry and Markle announced their decision to quit, but their last day as senior royals is on March 31.

“Harry and Meghan have often done fun things like throwing pizza parties or hiring ice cream trucks for their staff, but they wanted to do something special going into this last week together. They toasted the team and thanked them for everything they have done. Some of the staffers cried,” a source told the publication.

“They've all been through so much together and the staff has been working around the clock to make sure this last visit was as seamless as possible. Meghan and Harry really wanted to show their appreciation, they know how hard everyone has worked,” the source added.

Things haven’t been easy for the royal couple, particularly Prince Harry when they announced their decision to quit as senior royals. During his interview on talkRADIO, royal editor Phil Dampier said that the decision was more difficult for the Duke of Sussex.

When the royal couple returned to London for a series of engagements, Prince Harry looked as though he was struggling. Markle, on the other hand, looked very relaxed and happy when she stepped out in public again.

Dampier said that Markle’s positive outlook may have stemmed from the fact that she knows she will no longer have to sit through many more of these royal engagements so she made sure to enjoy her time last week.

Prince Harry and Markle have been staying in Canada since they announced their exit. They will also stop using the Sussex Royal brand after Megxit is finalized on March 31.
