KEY POINTS
- Prince William and Meghan Markle had no interaction during their Commonwealth service reunion
- Prince William snubbed Meghan Markle during the royal family's traditonal Christmas walkabout in 2018
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were called weak and pathetic for renouncing their royal roles
Prince William and Meghan Markle had no interaction during their recent public reunion.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reunited with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the first time in public when the two pairs joined Queen Elizabeth II and the other members of the Firm during the Commonwealth service. However, according to spectators, the Cambridges were cold toward the Sussexes.
Meanwhile, body language expert Bianca Cobb felt that Prince Harry’s brother and wife were distant toward each other. In fact, Prince William and Markle did not interact at the event.
"Meghan actually turned her head to look in William’s direction and then she looked back at the person she was talking to, and that was it. There was no interaction,” Cobb told Us Weekly.
“She looked to see if that was him but then she turned right back around to the person she was talking to. Meghan and William kept a distance perhaps because they are feeling some kind of distance.”
The expert also noted Prince William and Markle greeted people at the church separately. Meanwhile, Prince Charles stood right next to Kate Middleton.
“It is interesting that Kate and Prince Charles [were] much closer than the distance between Meghan and William,” Cobb added.
Cobb also noticed that when the Cambridges arrived to take their seats “there was a slight acknowledgement from Meghan and no acknowledgement from William.” She added that Middleton also didn’t turn her head to acknowledge the Sussexes.
This isn’t the first time Prince William was accused of snubbing his sister-in-law. Back in 2018, during the royal family’s traditional Christmas walkabout, many felt that the duke also snubbed Prince Harry’s wife when the latter attempted to talk to him while he was fixing his scarf.
However, instead of bashing Prince William, many praised the second in line to the throne for doing so. Prince Charles who walked ahead of Markle also didn’t pay attention to her. The incident prompted some royal fans to conclude that Markle is not popular and likable among members of the royal family.
In related news, Jonathan Moran called Prince Harry and Markle “weak” and “pathetic” for turning their backs from their royal duties. Moran blamed both for their decision and for ending up in an “ugly situation.”
