Meghan Markle Quits 'Suits' And Is 'Happy' With Career Choice, Source Says
Meghan Markle has reportedly decided to leave "Suits" and take on a new big role: being Prince Harry's wife.
Rumors that Markle will be leaving her hit legal drama series "Suits" on USA Network first surfaced earlier this year, but the actress has yet to confirm or deny the reports. A new source, however, recently claimed that Markle is indeed dropping her role and leaving the series after the latest season, so fans should say goodbye to Rachel Zane.
"Meghan knows she can't really act at the same time as being a princess and is happy to make this career sacrifice," a source told Daily Mail. "She really enjoys her charity work with Unicef and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal."
If the actress does indeed leave "Suits," Markle's decision to exit the hit series may not come as a big surprise to the crew. A show insider previously said that some members of the staff had already predicted her departure. "No one gets the impression she's staying on the show much longer," an insider said. "They believe she's going to marry Harry."
Another source added that since Markle started dating Prince Harry, the staff on set were warned to keep their silence about the actress' high-profile romance or they would be fired. The insider added that Markle leaving the show eventually "boils down to security issues." The production had even decided not to list the "Horrible Bosses" star's name in shooting schedules.
While the actress and USA Network have yet to confirm her final decision, leaving "Suits" would be far from easy for Markle as she loves the character and she apparently considers her role in the show as her biggest career break, according to an insider. "Meghan loved playing Rachel and feels she owes so much to 'Suits.' But Harry can't move to Toronto, so she'll have to move eventually if they want to be together," a source said. "Her decision to give up the biggest role of her career would mean a lot."
Markle is expected to move with Prince Harry in London for good if she gives up her acting career and agrees to take their relationship to the next level. Last week, sources confirmed that the pair is already "house-hunting" for a high-end estate in Cotswolds Hills. The area is significant for Prince Harry as he reportedly spent majority of his years there. Prince Charles and Princess Diana owned a property in the place where the family used to spend their weekends.
Markle and Prince Harry are expected to announce their engagement in December. After that, the couple will likely have a low-key spring wedding.
