Meghan Markle Recycles Expensive Givenchy Coat Amid 'Overspending' Accusations [PHOTOS]
Meghan Markle, like sister-in-law Kate Middleton, doesn't hesitate to recycle her favorite dresses and coats, especially when they are classic and timeless.
Earlier this week, Markle had a meeting with The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), one of the two royal patronages Queen Elizabeth II transferred to her. The ACU represents more than 500 universities throughout more than 50 Commonwealth countries. The second one was the National Theatre in London which Markle also visited on Thursday.
For the outing, Markle looked gorgeous in a recycled black Givenchy coat, which she reportedly first wore on Remembrance Day back in November 2018, according to Harper's Bazaar. Under the coat, she donned a pleated black knee-length dress, which she paired with nude pumps. The Duchess of Sussex kept her hair neat in a prim high bun.

Royal correspondent Victoria Murphy discussed Markle's meeting with The ACU last week, writing on Twitter that the pregnant duchess will be interacting with students.
"Meghan will see the work of @The_ACU today as she completes her first round of official visits to her four new patronages," she wrote. "She will meet students from the Commonwealth studying in the UK, for whom access to university has transformed their lives, at City, University of London."
The ACU also wrote a message announcing their collaboration with Markle and talking about what the duchess will be doing during her visit.
"We're very excited to be welcoming our new Patron, HRH The Duchess of Sussex to @CityUniLondon today, where she’ll be joining us for a workshop to find out how the ACU is building a better world through #highered," the organization's statement read.
Prior to this, Markle also met with the members of The ACU in December last year. The organization revealed that Markle had a private meeting with its members wherein the duchess talked to "university leaders, academics & #students to discuss how we can build a better world through #highered."
It seems education has always been a passion of Markle's. Back in October, Markle also talked about the need for accessible education while speaking to a group of students at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.
According to royal correspondent Omid Scobie, Markle said that education should be afforded to everyone, and this is especially "vital" for girls and women in developing countries.
Meanwhile, some netizens recently called out Markle, accusing her of lying and overspending. One Twitter user responded to royal fans saying Markle was being discriminated against due to her race, saying that it was actually her "extreme spending" that irked many people.
Earlier this year, fashion-tracking site UFO No More revealed that Markle took the no. 1 spot among royals when it comes to clothing expenses. The duchess reportedly spent an estimated $723,526 on her wardrobe last year, a number which doesn't even include her very pricey custom Givenchy wedding dress.
