Meghan Markle was reportedly horrified with how Prince Andrew dismissed allegations that he had sex with teenagers.

The Duke of York has finally spoken about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that has been plaguing him for months. Prince Andrew denied that he met Victoria Roberts and even said that he doesn’t attend parties, sweat and show PDA.

According to Robert Mendick of The Telegraph, Markle was “horrified by the manner in which the Duke of York dismissed allegations that he had sex with a teenager.” The duke’s explanation reportedly left Markle and his team “feeling uncomfortable.”

Prince Harry’s wife is an advocate of women’s rights and equality. Markle has championed the cause of female victims of violence. According to the duchess she became a female advocate accidentally.

When Markle was just 11 years old, she saw a liquid dishwasher commercial with a tagline that read, “women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.” The duchess admitted that she was “shocked” and “angry” that many thought women belong in the kitchen.

Markle penned a letter to then-First Lady Hillary Clinton, news source Lina Ellerbee and powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred and to the soap manufacturer. After a few weeks, she received encouragement from Clinton, Ellerbee and Allred. In a video from “Nick News with Linda Ellerbee” in 1993, the host praised Markle for her advocacy and strength despite her age.

“It was absolutely clear that this young woman was strong in her beliefs,” Ellerbee said about Markle. “It didn’t matter that she was 11 years-old. She believed in women, she believed in her own power, and she wasn’t afraid to reach out and say ‘I want my power, I want my rights.’”

Markle did not have an easy start when she joined the showbiz industry. In fact, she experienced how it was to be an auditioning actress and being hungry for work. She added that no matter how one looks like, she should be taken seriously.

“No matter what you look like, you should be taken seriously. And for me also, I think it’s really great to be a feminist and be feminine,” the duchess said
